Hey guys! I realized I forgot to mention something about the blog today. To the left under the links section you'll see a section that says "updates" with a number next to it. Whenever Sonja, Mandie or I make a post for you guys to check out, we're going to tag it as an update.
If you click on that update section it'll bring up all the posts we've made with the most recent at the top. Please check that periodically so you don't miss out on any of our posts.
Don't forget to check out some of the links on the side, there are tons of awesome photographers on American Suburb X, Conscientious and The Photography Post.
Here are some tidbits for you:
Santa Barbera, CA © Henry Wessel, 1977
Henry Wessel has been photographing for many years, he was born in 1942. After visiting California in 1970 he fell in love with it and started photographing the oddities of the west--the natural quirks of it's landscape and it's people.
This website has some of his earlier black and white work.
Edith and Berry Necklace, Danville, Virginia © Emmet Gowin, 1971
Emmet Gowin has been around for a while also. Most of images are emotional, intensely personal and sensitive. I was lucky to meet him a few months ago and hear an talk he gave about himself and his friend, mentor and in many ways a very similar photographer,
Harry Callahan. His talk almost made me cry it was so great, he cares so deeply about each moment in his life and shows his respect for them by photographing it.

Your photos are looking great! Keep it up!
Rose
