Ruby Martinez

Hey guys! The reason I picked this one instead of a few other ones that I had was that this isn't my usual style of photography and I figured I'd step out of my comfort zone a little bit! :)

  1. This is a great photo. I really like how isolated the girl looks and how as I move my eyes to from left to right the subject becomes less cluttered.

  2. hey ruby
im liking the angles in this photo from this perspective, the lines on the wall, how the bike rack is getting narrower into the distant, and it moves my eyes to the left as the subject is putting his bike away.

  3. Speaking to Sonya's comment, what does that perspective do? Does it expand the space? How does it effect the person's scale? The wall becomes epic, monumental compared to him. Why did you choose black and white, Ruby?

  4. Well, when i took the picture it wasn't exactly illuminated, but it was sort of a sunny, brightish photo and that wasn't really the mood I wanted this photo to have. I kind of wanted it to be darker and more serious and also for the boy and the bikes to be a darker shade, so that they stood out more!
